A self-taught fine art and editorial photographer, Laurie’s images have been exhibited in galleries in Venice, Siena, Athens, Crete, Johnson City, Texas, Boston and Winchester and Marblehead, Massachusetts.

Most recently, Laurie’s print “Snowball” was selected for inclusion in Art-Icon’s Static Cinema exhibit in Venice in September of 2025 and her print “Nowhere” was included in the All You Can See exhibit in Siena, Italy for its recognition in the 2025 Siena Creative Photography Awards.

Laurie’s portrait series Before Self-Consciousness- a long term photography project documenting her sons’ childhood and brotherhood- was featured in the 8th Edition Regional Showcase of the Fence and Panopticon Gallery’s juried show First Look 2022.

Selections from Laurie’s ongoing project Through the Ice- a series of portraits and lifestyle images documenting the local communities of cold water immersion enthusiasts- have been exhibited at Panopticon Gallery’s First Look 2025: Second Glance, the Marblehead Arts Association’s Variations juried show and recognized by the 2025 Siena Creative Photography Awards, the 2025 Monovisions competition, the 2024 London Photography Awards and 2024 Prix de la Photographie de Paris.

As an editorial photographer, Laurie has gained extensive experience contributing to the Boston Globe, the Boston Globe Magazine, the Washington Post, the Boston Herald, and other editorial, corporate, and commercial publications. Her photographs have been recognized with first place awards in the Southern and Northern Short Course competitions of the National Press Photographers Association.

A cold water immersion enthusiast herself, Laurie been photographing portraits of her fellow cold water plungers since 2022. She lives in the historic seaside town of Marblehead with her husband and two teenage sons, and swims in the ocean several times a week all year round.
